At the time of the Adanaut reveal, the after mint revelation was a much lesser known tactic on the Cardano Blockchain. Prior to Adanauts, only a few Cardano projects had attempted this. Brrrbon enjoyed interacting with ETH projects that had more regularly utilized reveal-style mints and he wanted to bring that excitement and full experience to Cardano users. At the time of the mint, every piece was shown as the same preview video, which was accompanied by a musical composition by the well known Acidica.
The reveal process we wanted for the project was ambitious and there were limitations with what the Cardano Blockchain was capable of, especially with the amount of time it would take to reveal 7,777 collectibles. On Ethereum, when the reveal process happens it's almost instantaneous across the complete collection, which leads to a frenzy of people looking for specific traits and the buying action that accompanies precise sniping. We knew it would take about an hour to complete this reveal with the limitations of the blockchain and further recognized that it would not be fair if someone got a reveal early and was able to sell/buy one before someone else had the same random advantage. We worked closely with CNFT.tools, which is a rarity tracking tool on Cardano, to reveal the Adanauts instantly. This allowed the users to experience the entire collection being revealed at the same time, which further enabled our community to see their Adanauts on CNFT.tools before the blockchain had made the reveal. Users, who had kept themselves aware of what we were doing, were also able to connect to secondary marketplaces from CNFT.tools and quickly buy traits that interested them. The Adanauts were revealed on the Blockchain in 45 minutes thanks to Cyber Pickle now Yepple's Minting Service.
In correlation with the reveal, we released Operation ROY-G-BIV, which is the chapter of our story during which the Adanauts broke out of Space Prison. This was done to bring both aspects of the art and lore together in a fun and unique way.
